Advanced Police-Prosecutor Coordination Training Programme is launched by Crisis Management Centre Finland in Kabul on 12 December 2009

The first training module of the Advanced Police-Prosecutor Coordination Training Programme implemented by Crisis Management Centre Finland operating under the Finnish Ministry of Interior is launched in Kabul on 12 December 2009. The training programme, funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, is conducted in co-operation with the Government of Afghanistan (Ministry of Interior and General Attorney's Office) and European Union Police Mission (EUPOL) in Afghanistan.

The first one week long training module in Kabul with 23 Afghan participants is to be followed by two 15 days long training modules organised in Finland in February and May 2010. The final one week long training module will be conducted in Kabul in July next year.

The objective of the Training Programme is to enhance police-prosecutor pre-trial investigation coordination in Afghanistan. This programme aims to remedy the existing gap of advanced police-prosecutor coordination training in Afghanistan by bringing together a group of senior Afghan police officers and prosecutors to examine and assess current coordination practises together with the Finnish and EUPOL AFG police and prosecution experts.

One of the main products of the Training Programme is an Afghan Police-Prosecution Coordination Manual, which will be drafted by the participants.
