Training Activities 2010

The most important task of all training at CMC Finland comprising part of domestic capacity building for civilian crisis management, is to ensure that Finland has a sufficient number of experts trained for civilian crisis management and peacebuilding missions by the EU and other international organisations.

Training aims at maximum conformity with the training requirements of the EU, UN and OSCE. This can best be achieved by working in close cooperation with other training institutions and  bodies responsible for training at the EU and other international organisations. CMC Finland trains Finnish personnel to international peace and humanitarian missions.

Basic Courses provide participants with general knowledge and skills needed in mission areas and conditions. Specialisation Courses are aimed at deepening experts’ knowledge and understanding in their respective fields of expertise.

Nominated personnel receive Mission-Related Trainings prior to the mission deployment. Pre-Mission trainings are complementary to induction trainings provided by the mission. Debriefings are organised, both for assisting repatriating experts in adjusting back to everyday life and duties at home improving the quality of the forthcoming trainings.

Civil Protection expert training and Finn Rescue(FRF) Trainings are also an integral part of CMC Finland’s training activities. In addition CMC Finland arranges Other Trainings like seminars and sends personnel to participate trainings abroad.
