Training and Education

The most important task of all training comprising part of domestic capacity building for civilian crisis management is to ensure that Finland has a sufficient number of experts trained for civilian crisis management and peacebuilding missions by the EU and other international organisations.

Training aims at maximum conformity with the training requirements of the EU, UN and OSCE. This can best be achieved by working in close cooperation with other training institutions and with bodies responsible for training at the EU and other international organisations.

CMC Finland trains personnel to international peace missions and humanitarian missions.  The basic and advanced courses prepare participants particularly for the European Union’s and the United Nations’ civilian crisis management and peace building missions.

Nominated personnel receive pre-mission training prior to the mission deployment. Pre-mission trainings are complementary to induction trainings provided by the mission. Debriefings are organised both for assisting repatriating experts in adjusting back to everyday life and duties at home and improving the quality of the forthcoming trainings.

Civil Protection expert training and Finn Rescue Finland (FRF) trainings are also an integral part of CMC Finland’s training activities.

CMC Finland also arranges seminars and sends personnel to receive training abroad.

CMC Finland is a member of the European Group on Training (EGT).
