The Crisis Management Centre Finland organizes the Basic Course on Civilian Crisis Management. In 2020 there will be two Basic Courses:
Basic Course on Civilian Crisis Management 1-2020 16.-28.5.2020
Basic Course on Civilian Crisis Management 2-2020 22.8.-3.9.2020
The course is a pre-requisite for Finnish civilian crisis management experts planning on applying for international field missions, unless they have former experience in civilian crisis management.
The course will provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge required on an international peace mission, independent of the specific function they will fulfil as experts in their own fields. Because most Finnish experts are seconded to EU missions, the course focuses on the EU’s civilian crisis management activities. However, all subjects and skills taught during the course are relevant also in the OSCE, United Nations and other operations. The course includes a Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT), an intensive module aimed at training professionals to deal effectively with high-risk and emergency situations while deployed in hostile environments abroad; a prerequisite for high risk missions.
You can apply through Lyyti webpage: www.lyyti.in/applytoBCCCM2020. The application period for the Basic Course on Civilian Crisis Management in 2020 ends on 31 December 2019 by 2359 hours.
