Civilian crisis management is joint international action to support and assist fragile states. The aim is to stabilize conditions in countries affected by war, armed conflict, natural or man-made disasters and to prevent the spread of turbulent situation.
Civilian crisis management is a part of foreign and security policies of both the European Union and Finland. Active participation in international cooperation ensures Finland’s position in an international decision-making.
In addition, civilian crisis management promotes the internal security of Finland. The work of our seconded experts inhibits international crime, terrorism, trafficking and uncontrolled immigration.
