International civil protection is an immediate assistance provided by the Finnish government in natural or man-made disasters or accidents all over the world. In Finland, participating in international civil protection missions is based on law. The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for Finnish preparedness and coordination of capacities. The Crisis Management Centre (CMC) Finland is an operational actor within the Emergency Services College and responsible for training and recruitment of Finnish experts to international civil protection missions as well as material preparedness. CMC Finland is also respected and valued partner in many development projects aiming at improving not only Finnish but also European capacities in international civil protection.
