The project is implemented by CMC Finland in joint cooperation with World Food Programme (WFP) Global Logistics Cluster. In this project, CMC plans, organizes and supports WFP in two Logistics Response Team Trainings in Kuopio, one in June 2017 and one in June 2019. The Trainings aim to develop the emergency response management knowledge and capacities of senior logistics managers. The objective of the trainings is to prepare skilled Logistics Response Teams who can be deployed to provide immediate operational logistics surge capacity and assume an initial coordination role during the onset of an emergency. The key objective is to understand the role and mandate of the Logistics Cluster to ensure participants are prepared to be a part of an emergency logistics response and/ or Logistics Cluster operation. The project is co-financed by the European Commission Civil Protection Financial Instrument (ECHO/A2/SER/2016/13).
