Understanding how climate change creates risks and opportunities related to local conflict dynamics and the delivery of international assistance are core competencies for all actors engaged in peace operations.<\/p>\n

CMC together with Folke Bernadotte Akademi and Center for International Peace Operations ZIF organised a roundtable discussion on climate security expertise on peace operations at the Berlin Climate Security Conference in October.<\/p>\n

The panel called for more training and awareness-raising among staff on climate security for greater impact, increasing synergies between international organisations and taking advantage of existing research for mission planning and conflict analysis.<\/p>\n
