The course is organised&nbsp;<strong>from 22 to 27 June 2025 in Madrid, Spain<\/strong>&nbsp;by&nbsp;Army Advanced Technical School (Escuela Polit\u00e9cnica Superior del Ej\u00e9rcito de Tierra).&nbsp;This is a certified course under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Course<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to complexity of current operations, there is an increasing awareness of the need for both military&nbsp;and civilian personnel to be equipped with practical means to interact with local women and men.&nbsp;This innovative international course, a result of the collaboration between the Spanish and Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, responds to these demands&nbsp;by providing participants with the&nbsp;skills and know-how needed to face these new challenges. The course aims to increase operational effectiveness by equipping students with the required skills and&nbsp; know-how to effectively implement the gender perspective in CSDP and international missions and&nbsp;operations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mandatory online module, &#8216;<em>An introduction to gender &#8211; sensitive peacekeeping operations<\/em>&#8216;,&nbsp; will be provided in advance of the training course in order to ensure&nbsp;a common basic level of knowledge among the participants. There will also be reading material for individual study available before the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find the Course Content and the Course Programme (draft)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmcfinland.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Course-content-programme.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Target audience<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>CMC Finland is seeking for a candidate who intends to apply for a middle management position in a civilian crisis management operation within one year and whose work in the operation includes planning and implementation of the security sector reform (SSR). The potential candidate(s) are applying for advisory or trainer positions, and they already have the required SSR skills but need training in integrating the gender perspective into their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMC Finland is seeking for a candidate who has participated in the basic training on civilian crisis management (BCCCM) and\/or who have been deployed by CMC before. Those who are currently deployed by CMC should primarily apply through their mission\/operation. Please contact CMC (training@cmcfinland.fi) if applying through your mission is not possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMC Finland is nominating candidate to the course, but the organizer is responsible for the final participant selection process. The nominated candidate of CMC Finland is not guaranteed to have a seat from the course.&nbsp;Nomination decision is based on the evaluation of applicant\u2019s possible mission experience, work and study history and anticipated support that the course will bring to applicant\u2019s recruitment to civilian crisis management missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Costs<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The course is free of charge. CMC Finland will cover the plane tickets and reimburse the accommodation costs during the residential modules.
