The Finnish Centre of Expertise in Comprehensive Crisis Management has pleasure to welcome applications to the Integrated Peace Operations course (IPC) held 6 to 12 June 2020. The course will be organized in Kuopio, Finland, at the facilities of Crisis Management Centre Finland (CMC Finland).
The course looks at the UN integrated approach and aims to enhance the performance of military, police and civilian personnel deployed to, or looking to deploy to, UN Missions. Moreover, personnel from the UN Country Team as well as Non-Governmental Organizations, particularly humanitarian and development aid actors, are encouraged to apply.
This seven-day residential course develops the skills, knowledge and competencies of participants with regard to UN multidimensional missions. The course will use specific tasks to reflect on the integrated approach in practical terms: Protection of Civilians (POC), Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) and Security Sector Reform (SSR).
The course is for military, police and civilians currently working in, or looking to work in, mission areas. Applicants particularly interested in enhancing cooperation and collaboration between different actors in peace operations and peacebuilding are encouraged to apply. Applicants must understand, speak and write English at working level.
