Crisis Management Centre (CMC) Finland is seeking for candidate from its roster to the ‘From Conflict Analysis to Integrated Action: generating strategies for intervention’ -course. The course is co-organized in Maynooth University’s Kennedy Institute for Conflict Intervention (Ireland) with the ZIF Centre for Peace Operations (Germany) in cooperation with the European Security and Defence College. The course is organised from 9 to 13 June 2025 in Maynooth University, Ireland.
About the Course
The course aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the nature of complex conflicts, and to provide them with the critical skills to effectively analyse conflict dynamics as well as identify and assess realistic responses. This course provides CFSP/CSDP personnel working in crisis response with the necessary conceptual frameworks and analytical skills to respond to such situations and to develop integrated approaches to conflict prevention and crisis management.
The course will be preceded by mandatory eLearning autonomous knowledge units, which will be available from 19 May – 8 June 2025 on the ESDC eLearning platform ILIAS. Course participants will have to complete the pre-course tasks before the residential phase of the course begins. All participants need to bring their personal computers to class to facilitate their access to the online learning platform during the week. Target audience
CMC Finland is seeking for candidate from its roster (who have participated in the basic training on civilian crisis management and/or who have been deployed by CMC before). Those who are currently deployed by CMC should primarily apply through their mission/operation. Please contact CMC (training@cmcfinland.fi) if applying through your mission is not possible.
CMC Finland is nominating candidate to the course, but the organizer is responsible for the final participant selection process. The nominated candidate of CMC Finland is not guaranteed to have a seat from the course. Nomination decision is based on the evaluation of applicant’s possible mission experience, work and study history and anticipated support that the course will bring to applicant’s recruitment to civilian crisis management missions.
Costs
CMC Finland will cover the plane tickets and reimburse the accommodation and in-country travel costs during the residential modlules. CMC Finland does not pay per diems nor the meals during the training.
