Established in 2007, the Crisis Management Centre (CMC Finland) is a centre of expertise for civilian crisis management. In accordance with its statutory duties, the CMC is responsible for training, recruiting and equipping Finnish civilian crisis management experts for international tasks. It also carries out work related to research and development.
As of the beginning of 2019, the CMC acts as a central agency under the administrative branch of the Ministry of the Interior.

In addition to domestic personnel, some 120 staff, seconded by the CMC, are working on international expert assignments.
