CMC Finland is seeking candidates for the Open-Source Intelligence Course taking place in Athens, Greece 11 to 22 May 2026. The course is organized by The Joint EU Intelligence School and the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).
About the course
The course is developed within the context of the Cyber Education Training Exercise and Evaluation (Cyber ETEE) platform of the ESDC and broadens the scope of its activities by addressing fundamental knowledge on the Open-Source Intelligence domain. Furthermore, the course aims to improve the knowledge, skills and competences of intelligence personnel, through structured methods and laboratory exercises, while promoting the exchange of knowledge and best practices among participants.
The training includes a prior e-learning session which, as a mandatory module, will provide the participants with all the essential introduction materials for familiarising themselves with OSINT techniques. During the ten-day residential part of the course, the participants will be educated on OSINT principles, source evaluation as well as OSINT tools and methodology.
Target audience
CMC Finland is seeking for a candidate who has participated in the basic training on civilian crisis management (BCCCM) and who have been deployed by CMC before or who are planning to to apply for example to MAC-positions or other positions
necessitating the application of intelligence knowledge and skills. Those who are currently deployed by CMC should primarily apply through their mission/operation. Please contact CMC (training@cmcfinland.fi) if applying through your mission is not possible.
In addition, the candidate must have strong motivation as well as suitable educational background and work experience to apply for positions where completing the course has concrete benefits.
CMC Finland will nominate a candidate to the course, but the organiser is responsible for the final participant selection process. The nominated candidate of CMC Finland is not guaranteed to have a seat from the course. Those who are currently deployed to a mission should primarily apply through their mission.
Costs
CMC Finland will cover the plane tickets and reimburse the accommodation and in-country travel costs during the residential module. CMC Finland does not pay per diems nor the meals during the training.
