About the course
Registration for the KRIHA25 – Basics for Civilian Crisis Management lecture by the National Defence Training Association of Finland (MPK) is open. The lecture takes place in Oulu, Finland on 30 August 2025 at 13.00-15.00. The lecture is held in Finnish. Please note that course if not organised by Crisis Management Centre.
Objectives
The lecture enhances knowledge on civilian crisis management, highlighting its similarities and differences to other international actions taken in conflict/post-conflict regions. The participants will familiarize themselves comprehensively with the current civilian crisis management field, covering topics such as civilian crisis management missions and their principles, the Finnish focus on civilian crisis management and civilian crisis management as part of Finnish foreign policy, civilian crisis management training and how to apply for training(s), deployment to operations, and examples of civilian crisis management positions in the operations.
After the lecture, participants will be able to:
- recognize the main institutions and organizations involved with civilian crisis management and can describe their main functions.
- understand how Finland takes part to international civilian crisis management
- understand what kinds of positions are available in the civilian crisis management missions and how they can apply for the positions.
Target audience
The lecture is targeted to anyone interested in the basics of civilian crisis management and/or looking for information on civilian crisis management trainings and on deployment for civilian crisis management positions. The participant does not need to have prior knowledge on civilian crisis management.
Costs
The course tuition is free of charge. The participant covers themselves the possible travel costs, accommodation, and meals. CMC Finland does not provide per diems.
Deadline
Fill out the registration form latest on 15 August at 12:00 through MPK portal which you can find behind this link. Please note that the registration requires signing up to the MPK portal. N.B. the DL for registration was changed recently by MPK, 15 Aug is the new deadline.
Please note that MPK makes the selections to the course. Cancellations need to be done at least 7 days before the seminar. After that cancellations are accepted only with a valid reason. In case of a no-show, 30 € payment will be charged.
